The seal of quality for Solingen products dates back to the Middle Ages. The Latin inscription “Me fecit Solingen” (Solingen created me) was engraved on swords and rapiers at the time. As these weapons often implied a kind of “survival insurance” for the fighters, they were sought after. Even if today swords are no longer used in the field, the “Me fecit Solingen” label is still a promise of quality. A pledge that is particularly relevant for hairdressers, today.
